In the late 1990s, Ford realised that their 100 year anniversary was fast-approaching. To celebrate, a retro Ford GT40 project was launched.

Using the same 5.4 litre V8 later to be seen in the Shelby GT500 Mustang, the new Ford GT had an output of approximately 550 horsepower. Combined with its low centre of gravity and 1960’s looks, the Ford GT quickly became one of the most desirable cars on the market.
