• The Fiesta Fly was a convertible version of the Ford Fiesta, originally designed by David McMullan and produced by the Kent-based coachbuilders, Crayford
• Production began in 1981 and it's believed that approximately 18 Mk1 cars were created by Crayford themselves before selling the license to the coachbuilding division of F. English, a large Ford dealer based in Dorset
• The Crayford Convertible Club Register has records for just 91 examples of the Fiesta Fly and SKL 217W is listed as a 1980, ex-Channel Islands, Crayford-built car in Diamond White
• The conversion included reinforcing the inner sill sections and welding the boot lid shut, however, mechanically the cars remained the same with the 1-litre cars powered by the Valencia four-cylinder 957cc engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox

We understand that the odometer read 24,500 miles in 2004 and 26,190 in September 2014 when purchased by our vendor indicating very light use over the years
