The new-for-1964 Ford Falcon had a new style with additional comfort for what they claimed to be “the plushest ride ever built into a compact car.” At the time, the six-cylinder version held the all-time record in the Mobil Economy Run, but the eight-cylinder cars were also considered to be economical while upping the power ante.

The new styling really needed no explanation; it was regarded as clean with side detail that accentuated length, added rigidity and gave a racier style. The driver’s seat provided new comfort and the steering wheel location and controls were repositioned to provide a roomier feeling. A wider rear track and refinements to the front and rear suspensions plus other modifications gave the Falcon a quiet, solid smoothness previously unseen in a compact.

The restomod example being offered is reported as originally a “very clean California V-8 Futura,” the top of the trim lines with the Falcon. It now runs with an upsized 351-cid V-8 engine that is paired with an automatic transmission that appears to have a performance-type shifter. The Futura has been restored and also features rack-and-pinion steering, front disc brakes, power-operated convertible top, custom interior with black seats with sand-toned piping, AM/FM/iPod, Falcon badging on the side panels and rear seat, plus custom wheels.

Offered without reserve, 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of this 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Restomod Convertible will benefit the Broward County Boys & Girls Clubs (BGCBC), a non-profit 501(c)(3) private agency dedicated to helping young people improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical period of growth. The BGCBC serves more than 12,500 at-risk youth, ages 6 to 18 each year in South Florida’s Broward County.
