Launched in 1967, the Fiat Dino Coupe was designed to be a true grand touring car, conceived to be driven, with four passengers, at high speeds, in excellent comfort and security. At its launch it was powered by an all-aluminum V6 2.0-litre, derived from the race Dino 196 engine developed by Ferrari. The car on offer is one of 384 2Ls produced and was registered in France, purchased by an industry magnate in the Paris region in 1968, and sold in 1975 to an enthusiast from the Eure region, who kept the car till 2012. An employee of Artcurial bought the car to the third owner in March 2014 and now offers it for sale in the auction. It features a sober and elegant dark blue livery and a very nice interior in beautifully patinated red leather and the mechanicals were overhauled in 2012 by the previous owner. In June 2014, a draining of the engine, the gearbox and the transmission was carried out while the car had 89,000 km on the odometer, and now it shows a little over 90,000. The car is in good running condition and was regularly used this year. The four tyres are in good condition too and all electrical equipment works well. It is rare to find such a sound and well-preserved example, with its original Blaupunkt radio, original handbook and original jack.
At the time, the Fiat Dino Coupe was more expensive than the spider version and is today still undervalued. This elegant car is featuring impressive performance with the melody of a Dino V6 capable of over 8000rpm. A great opportunity that connoisseurs will truly appreciate.
