Fiat 600 D ZAGATO ELABORAZIONE (1965) CHASSIS N° 2034124, ENGINE: 4 CYLINDER IN LINE, DISPLACEMENT: 767 CM3, POWER: 31,5 BHP, BODY: SALOON The 600 was launched at the Geneva Motor Show on March the 10th, 1955, and its revised 600D version with an enlarged engine of 767 cm3 and 29 bhp in September 1960. The car on offer today was registered 1965, is unique as it comes from a tiny number of special units, of which no other survivor is known. What makes it unique is the fact that it was modified and sold directly by Carrozzeria Zagato. The registration papers say: “Sales Declaration released by: Carrozzeria ZAGATO S.p.A. Milano”. The Z logo is on the dashboard, on the hubcaps and on the sides of the car. Externally, this 600 shows a duo-tone paint and a host of accessories, such as special gauges, Nardi steering wheel, special upholstery and beautiful Borrani alloy wheels with unique hubcaps. Mechanically, it was also tuned by none other than Stanguellini of Modena, then a more successful competitor of Abarth. The engine has been made more powerful and has a special Stanguellini head and a one off exhaust system. The “libretto” says: “Derivata Zagato Elaborazione Milano. Il motore modello 100D000 nr. 2233518 è stato trasformato e potenziato”. This super rare 600 has always been kept in perfect conditions by the same family until the vendor bought it a few years ago, and today is as good as new and has an ASI Certificate of Historic Interest, and original plates and papers. It i salso recognised by the Registro Storico Fiat.
The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
