Beschreibung
"This pretty Italian model was launched in 1967 as both coupé and spider with a 90hp, 1.4 litre twin-cam engine mated to a five speed gearbox, disc brakes all round and double wishbone front suspension. The two cars received universal praise as a nimble fun-to-drive sports car. The only real criticism being that they were slightly under powered, the first revision, ‘B’, sought to answer this by the addition of a 110bhp high compression twin carburettor 1.6 litre engine but Fiat, in their wisdom, ‘softened’ the suspension and changed the cars personality. This did not please everybody however, in answer, the third and final revision ‘C’, saw a return to the original and tighter suspension set-up so the car finally had both the power and handling to match. The present owner bought this car from a dealer friend of his in Perugia having originally gone to see a Fiat Dino coupé. Whilst looking the rest of his stock, he spotted this. It looked quite unremarkable to start with but the more he looked, the more interested he became. The shut lines were perfect and all the panels were straight, a closer inspection revealed perfect wheel arches still showing the original factory spot welds. The underside was completely original as well. So this is a third 'C' series car, registered on 12th October, 1973. Full Gold Plate ASI registered, this car has had three owners, the second keeping it until 2013 and spending all its life in the warm and dry Perugia region of Italy. The immaculate and original interior is an unusual grey with red check, it has also been specified with the unique Cromodora CD68 alloy wheels. It also has a set of 7 Cromodora type 66 alloy wheels, as on the Ferrari Dino, available separately. The engine is in excellent condition and fires up instantly, sounding crisp with rapid throttle response, excellent oil pressure and not a whiff of blue smoke! The gearbox is light and quick with no noise or synchromesh baulking.
In its original Rosso Sierra paintwork, the body is factory original throughout, rust and accident free. The paint has been refreshed at some point to a good standard with no overspray or poor masking evident and just one or two stone chips. It retains all its original features, the doors open and shut easily and fit perfectly, no slamming needed. It has had seat covers and floor mats from new which are retained with the car. Everything works, even the clock. It also comes with its original carpet, full toolkit, jack and alloy spare wheel with serviceable tyre. This charming example is UK registered with a 12 month MoT test certificate."
