For over 10 years, the 365 GTB4 "Berlinetta Boxer", followed by the 512 BB had their rein, but in 1984 it was time to find a successor. True to its traditional coachbuilder, Ferrari entrusted the design of the all-new Testarossa to Pininfarina, while preserving the architecture of the engine, a 12-cylinder flat. The rocker covers are gave a red shade of color, which justified the resurrection of the famous branding of "Testa Rossa", the symbol of considerable sporting success in the 1950s for Ferrari. With almost 400bhp, and an almost 300 km/h top speed, this quick and comfortable Grand Tourer caught the fancy of the motoring enthusiasts across the globe.
This car on offer was delivered new by the Parisian importer Charles Pozzi SA (at Levallois-Perret) to its first owner, Yves Dullieux, who lived near Rouen. In its grey shade, with black leather interior, the car is in superb condition. The car features Ferrari's fitted luggage option. A few months after acquiring the car, with just 3000kms on the clock, the car was sold to a neighbor and friend, the current owner. This car joined a superb collection of GTs. Since 1986 it has been a part of this collection, and was in such an exceptional state, that it was as good as firsthand! This Testarossa has been maintained till 2000 by the Garage Ferrari Pozzi; and the invoices pertaining to that comes with the car. The car had covered 66,000km as per the last invoice from that year. In 2001, with the number of cars in his collection becoming increasingly important, our collector hired a mechanic permanently. Nicolas, a very passionate and talented technician, working with great accurate, set up a workshop in the Normandy property. All the cars in the collection, including the Testarossa, and the three other cars on sale, began to be maintained on site, with parts sourced from manufacturers. Given the very limited use, this car's last major revision was the changing of the belts and the brakes in 2006, when it showed 70,000 kms on the odometer. The counter showed 72,446km on the day of the photography. The buyer will need to service the car before hitting the road. This is a Testarossa with the 'Monospecchio' first version, sold new in France, almost first hand, with its original fitted luggage, its manuals and other original booklets, within its leather case. Its high-beam yellow headlamps, changed by the first owner, gives the car a unique look that show originality. This Testarossa, with all these qualities, is rare, given that it is a rare version: an opportunity to grab this one quickly before such cars disappear. One must remember that these early models were produced in very small numbers, in relation to the entire production run of the model...
