Beschreibung

After a short break in the early nineties, the Italians presented, with the Ferrari 456 series, an updated version of the 2 + 2-seater coupé whose design has shaped those of the GT coupé up to the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. At the end of production of the Scaglietti model in 2011, the manufacturer continued to add new accents for its Gran Turismo. The four-seater model that under the name of Ferrari FF was introduced on the market in 2011, has brought important innovations on two aspects: The shape of the body has changed and in the traction technology the Italians have equipped a model for the first time. standard with a four-wheel drive developed in the company itself.
Pininfarina designed the Ferrari FF as a Shooting Brake
Maranello’s Gran Turismo cars had so far shown the classic features of a coupe, but with the FF the brand’s designer, Pininfarina, has created a Shooting Brakes-style coupe. The advantage of this construction in the rear that Ferrari used for the first time: the Ferrari FF has a cargo volume in the trunk of around 450 liters, which with the seats folded rises to around 800 liters.
The design concept of the Ferrari FF
As similarities to the previous GT series only the round headlights at the rear of the Ferrari FF remain. At the front, the FF still displayed the famous appearance characteristics of its predecessor with an elongated oval construction. The air vents have become narrower and therefore more elegant. The extremely elongated front headlights act as a sporting counterpoint, the vertical construction of which was borrowed from the Ferrari 458 Italia.
The Ferrari FF develops a power of up to 660 hp from its V12 aggregate
Traditionally, four-seater coupes from Maranello were equipped with the manufacturer’s most powerful engines. Also for the FF the choice fell on a V12 aggregate that developed a power of up to 485 kW (660 hp) and with a displacement of 6.3 liters. By comparison, the performance of the predecessor’s V12 engine became almost modest: The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti had a displacement of 5.7 liters with 397 kW (540 hp).
An all-wheel drive technology for the Ferrari FF
One of the fastest production models built by the manufacturer to date, the Ferrari FF could reach 100 kilometers per hour with a standing start in just 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed declared by the manufacturer is 335 kilometers per hour. In addition to high sporting performance, this production model from Maranello was the first Ferrari vehicle equipped with an all-wheel drive.
