Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1994, the Ferrari F355 was styled by Pininfarina and would be the successor to the ageing 348. It brought about a number of technological improvements that made it one of the best performing Ferraris. Its engine was state of the art and featured a new management system and a larger, more sophisticated exhaust system, which meant drastically improved performance and produced what is considered by many to be the best Ferrari V-8 sound...that only gets better with the top down.

106741 was completed in September 1996 and sold new through renowned Ferrari of Beverly Hills to its first caretaker and famed composer Herbie Hancock on November 21, 1996. This particular F355 was delivered in the unusually seen and quite striking Rosso Monza paint over Black leather upholstery, while sporting the preferred 6-speed traditional gated manual transmission. The original window sticker displays an MSRP of $137,075. Hancock's ownership would span the following 18 years. According to CarFax, and an accompanying dossier of invoices, the Ferrari appears to have received regular services throughout Hancock's tenure, including a major mechanical overhaul in May 2014. In December 2014, the Spider changed hands for the first time, and once more in July 2017, and lastly here in Houston, Texas in June 2018.

Today, the car displays just 24,850 miles recorded from new and is supplemented by its original Window Sticker, all original owner's manuals, booklets, California emissions warranty pamphlet and PIN card in leather folio, along with two sets of keys and supplemental tools in driver's side carrier. The Spider appears in stock configuration, aside from a tastefully integrated audio system. The paint is bright and glossy, while the original leather has fared well with minor shrinkage – as photographed. All "sticky" plastics have already been resolved.
