Launched in 1994, the F355 the 355 GTB Berlinetta with its fabulous chassis, beautiful design lines, an exquisite sounding V8 and exuding tons of sports car appeal it was in instant success. In 1995, Ferrari introduced the GTS model to the F355 model iteration of Berlinetta, Spider and Targa. With the success of the earlier 246 GTS Dino, 308 GTS, 328 GTS and 348 Targa style models, the 355 GTS continued that trend, and today has become the most collectible and desirable of all the 355 iterations.

The F355’s 40-valve V-8 with 375 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque carried over intact. Other specifications were identical to the Berlinetta. 2,577 GTS models were produced, with 2,048 6-speed manuals and another 529 with the F1 transmission. The V8 revs to satisfying 8,250rpm and sounds guttural, rough and very Ferrari-like. 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 183mph were both very fast for the day.

Our GTS example, was sold new by Ferrari Autohaus Sprau GmbH, located in Saarbrucken Germany to a Mr. Stefan Jomeck, and finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero interior. Receiving a first service the day before the car and service book was signed over to Mr. Joneck, the car enjoyed pan European driving as Mr. Joneck opted for Ferrari ARC Transistance from 1996 until 1998. The car remained within the Pirmasens, Germany, area for almost its entire life. Receiving a major servicing overhaul in 2011 for 17,048.23 Euros, with just 31,626 km (19,651 miles) shown at the time. In 2015 registration documents confirm that the 355 GTS was still owned by Mr. Joneck. In 2022 the engine received a compression test, likely prior to sale and export to the USA, and passed with flying colors showing similar compression across all cylinders.

Imported to the states the Ferrari was totally gone through for its next owner, a renowned Ferrari client with a sublime collection. In keeping with his desire to make all his cars superb, in May of 2023, no stone was left unturned and the 355 received a full major, paint correction and many items detailed and addressed and new tires all around, to the total sum of $45,700.00 ! Needless to say, the Ferrari now presents beautifully and drives superbly. It is understood from a conversation with the seller, he was not happy with the sound of the car and at that point found a sensible decision was made to install a factory Ferrari 355 Challenge exhaust muffler which produces a fabulous sound.

Today, with just 32,430km or 20,151 miles from new, it has traveled a mere 719 miles a year since it left the selling Ferrari dealer 28 years ago. It is believed that this Ferrari 355 GTS, shown with rare and sought after large style carbon bucket race seats and 355 Challenge muffler, has had just two owners from new, been meticulously well maintained and comes complete with original stamped books, service history and factory tools.
