  • Unique, one-off example, celebrating the 120th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari's birth
  • Pre-production model used to introduce the F12tdf at the 2015 Finali Mondiali
  • Used for press and promotional purposes by Ferrari in both Maranello and the U.K.
  • Previously driven by Sebastian Vettel Exhibited at the Museo Enzo Ferrari
  • Single private ownership and just under 6,800 km from new, most of which were accumulated in factory ownership
  • Unquestionably the most significant F12tdf

At the 2015 Finali Mondiali held at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, Ferrari’s VIP clients were in for a treat as Ferrari chose that event to unveil the F12tdf, a car which at the time was the most powerful naturally-aspirated Ferrari ever built. Both the Scuderia’s Formula 1 drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, as well as then Chairman Sergio Marchionne were on hand to unveil the new car, and it would be an understatement to say that those clients were impressed by what they saw.

What they saw was this very car, an F12tdf bearing chassis number 213364, finished in arresting Giallo Triplo Strato over a Nero Alcantara interior with matching highlights. Both more attractive and meaning in appearance than the standard F12 Berlinetta, in name and design it harkened back to the great Ferrari’s of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Ferrari was keen to impress those lucky enough to see the unveiling in person, so Sebastian Vettel was tossed the keys and was joined by Sergio Marchionne for a few demonstration laps, and it goes without saying that the F12tdf did not dissapoint.

Following the Finali Mondiali, this F12tdf returned back to Maranello where it was used during Ferrari’s International Medial Test Drive event. There, it would be driven by motoring journalists from around the world, and most notably by Chris Harris for BBC’s Top Gear. Lapping Fiorano, it was clear to see that Harris was smitten with the new Ferrari, dubbing it “a magnificent piece of work”. The car’s press tour continued, and it was shipped to the U.K. for use by Ferrari North Europe (wearing the U.K. registration F12 FNE). The car received lots more attention from Top Gear and was driven by Harris once again for Top Gear at Paul Ricard, then driven by Ollie Marriage in Wales for Top Gear magazine where it was photographed alongside a Eurofighter Typhoon. Andrew Frankel for Autocar magazine was also lucky enough to drive the car through Wales for a review as well.

Upon the conclusion of its press duties, the F12tdf was exported back to Italy in December 2016 where it returned to its home in Maranello. There, the car was exhibited at the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena as part of the “Driving with the Stars” exhibition from February 2017 through February 2018. Late that year, Piero Ferrari approached Sergio Marchionne looking to auction a F12tdf for charity to be designated as a unique one-off car, celebrating the 120th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari’s birth and the auction would be held at the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari in Modena. All proceeds in the auction would go to charity.

The charity in question was the Associazione Centro Dino Ferrari, an organization founded by Enzo Ferrari in the memory of his first son, which funds research of a variety of diseases including muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Tragically, this would be one of Sergio Marchionne’s final decisions at Ferrari before he was admitted to hospital and passed away in 2018.

Naturally, as it was still in Ferrari’s corporate ownership, chassis number 213364 was designated for this purpose and fitted with a special plaque engraved with the words “To celebrate the 120th Anniversary of the birth of Enzo Ferrari”, accompanied by Piero Ferrari’s signature. Held on October 6, 2018, the auction took place with a number of Ferrari’s senior management present, including Piero Ferrari, and the car was purchased by the consignor, a well-known U.K.-based Ferrari client and collector. Upon his purchase, he was invited to receive his new car at a private ceremony in Maranello, accompanied by Piero Ferrari and Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s chief marketing and commercial officer. This was followed by a shakedown of the F12tdf at Fiorano.

Today, the F12tdf has been driven just 4,000 miles from new, most of which were accumulated in factory ownership, whilst only 240 kilometers have been accumulated in private ownership. Importantly, after leaving the factory’s ownership and care the Tdf was serviced by Ferrari main dealer Meridien Modena on the 9th July 2019 showing 4,123 miles or 6,635km. Subsequently it was serviced again having only covered 64 miles since its last service on the 16th October 2020 with 4,187 miles or 6,738km. Still under its transferable warranty until March, the car is also supplied with a transferable service plan valid until November 4th, 2022, giving the new owner peace of mind.It also comes with its Classiche-issued ‘Attestato per Vetture Serie speciali’ yellow binder. The car presents in excellent condition throughout, as would be expected for what is unquestionably the most significant F12tdf in existence. It was this very car that introduced the F12tdf to the world through not only its appearance and introduction at the Finali Mondiali, but also being the only car to be created to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari’s birth and featured by the world’s motoring press through social media, print, and television. Offered from its first and only private owner, the significance of this automobile and opportunity simply cannot be understated.
