The 812 GTS is the first series-production Ferrari V12 convertible since the 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider of 1969. Everything in between was limited-run. The 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V12 produces 795 ps and revs to 8,900 rpm. The metal roof folds away in fourteen seconds at speeds up to 45 km/h, and that is precisely the point: with the roof down there is nothing left between the driver and that V12. The exhaust was specifically revised for the GTS to make the most of it.

Fun fact: 80 percent of peak torque is available from 3,500 rpm. You do not need to wring the engine out to feel something, though that is where it is at its best

De 6,5 liter atmosferische V12 levert 795 pk en gaat door tot 8.900 toeren. Het metalen dak vouwt in veertien seconden weg tot 45 km/u, en dat is precies waar het om draait: zonder dak zit er niets meer tussen de bestuurder en die V12. De uitlaat is specifiek voor de GTS aangepast om dat te versterken.

Leuk detail: 80 procent van het koppel is al beschikbaar vanaf 3.500 toeren. Je hoeft de motor dus niet uit te wringen om er iets van te merken, al is dat wel waar hij op zijn best is.

Le toit métallique se replie en quatorze secondes jusqu'à 45 km/h, et c'est précisément là tout l'intérêt: toit ouvert, plus rien ne sépare le conducteur de ce V12. L'échappement a été spécifiquement revu pour la GTS afin d'en tirer le meilleur.

Anecdote: 80 pour cent du couple maximal est disponible dès 3 500 tr/min. Il n'est donc pas nécessaire de pousser le moteur dans ses retranchements pour en ressentir les effets, même si c'est là qu'il donne le meilleur de lui-même.
