New timing belts
Less than 56,500 km

After the sculptural and adored 456 GT, Ferrari presents in 2004 an authentic GT 2+2: the 612 Scaglietti, in reference to the Italian coachbuilder from Modena, closely linked to the history of the Cavallino rampante. More luxurious, more “bourgeois”, more livable, more powerful: this is the front-engined V12 Ferrari of all superlatives. However, enthusiasts of the prancing horse shunned it, seeing it only as a family Ferrari, inevitably less interesting than the strict 2-seaters, considered - wrongly - as more noble and sportier. Despite its dimensions (4.76 m long, 2.95 m wheelbase), it is 60 kg lighter than the 456 GT, thanks to an all-aluminium body. The exclusive bodywork is the work of Pininfarina designer Ken Okuyama, who has hollowed out the sides of the car in homage to the iconic 1954 375 MM Pinin Farina given by director Roberto Fellini to the sublime actress Ingrid Bergman. Under the front bonnet, the 5.7 litre F133 V12 develops 540 bhp, giving the 612 lap times similar to those of the 575 M. It is coupled to a mechanical or sequential robotised gearbox (F1 type, 90% of the production), mounted just in front of the rear axle, in a transaxle style, for a better weight balance. Just over 3,000 units of this authentic GT will be produced until 2011. The end of its production will also mark the end of the Ferrari 2+2 series, a series that began in the 1960s with the famous 250 GTE and was marked a little later by the 400 range.
It would appear that the car we are presenting, in azzuro metalizzato, has had only three owners, all Belgian, since 2004. It was delivered to its first owner on 10 June 2004, via the official Ferrari dealer Autobedrijf Monza in Saint-Martens-Latem, and regularly driven and maintained. Its service book shows that it was serviced between 2005 and 2010, from 12,000 km to just over 39,000 km. The car changed hands in 2011, when the official Ferrari dealer in Wijnegem, FMA, sold it to its second owner and the timing belts were replaced for the first time. Although the booklet is no longer stamped, the Car-Pass can be used to prove that the car is still maintained until 2014. The car, which then had just over 55,000 km, passed through the hands of several professionals before being bought by its current owner in 2017. He will use it very little, and will have the timing belts replaced again (invoice of January 2021 attached to the file). This beautiful Ferrari GT 2+2, which had no descendants, is finally seeing its interest rise again. This car, which is just waiting to be driven, will delight its future owner.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on June the 20th, 2021.
