This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Magnificent and very unique Ferrari 512 BB with a demonstrable mileage of only 16,317 KM! This Ferrari 512 has been in the family for more than 40 years and was bought in 1979 by René Herzog, at the time a professional racing driver and collector. The Ferrari always had the best technical maintenance and is in excellent condition! The original and very rare Conolly beige leather interior with Daytona seats is in mint condition. The 5-litre, 12-cylinder boxer engine runs and sounds great. This is the most sought-after carburettor version, only 929 units were built.

Herzog drove professionally in the Touring Car Championship (the predecessor of the current DTM) in the 1960s-80s. Including the world championship sports car with several Ferraris 512 BB M cars and later during international classic car races with the Ferrari GTO, the Ferrari SWB and the Shelby Mustang. Herzog participated with Herbert Müller in the sports car championship in a Ferrari 512 M in 1971. He bought this Ferrari 512 BB in 1979, the street version of the 512 M, to drive to the races. The Ferrari was adapted at the time, including a special set of wider wheels, a wider body and a sports exhaust.
Rene Herzog sold the vehicle after 35 years to his cousin in 2014, the Ferrari remained in Switzerland and went to Germany in April 2017 (and therefore the EU).

This 512 BB has air conditioning and a cigarette lighter / ashtray, but is indeed a non-smoking vehicle. The Ferrari is technically in absolute excellent condition, the interior is as good as new.
The odometer reading was 16,013 km in 2011/12, that’s when the last major service was done including replacement of the timing belt plus some minor restoration work worth almost 40,000 Swiss francs. The Ferrari is damage-free, non-smoking and still has a German registration. All modifications have been approved by the TÜV (German periodic vehicle inspection), documentation is available. There’s also a letter from Rene Herzog in which he confirms the history and adaptations.

You are more than welcome to view this car in our showroom and to take it for a test drive prior to placing a bid.

Given the Ferrari’s age, it may have sustained some signs of wear and age over the years.

This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.
