The Ferrari 458 Speciale took the world by storm after its announcement in 2013, evolving from the already extreme award winning 458 Italia.

Like that of the Challenge Stradale and Scuderia, the Speciale is the improved, hardcore, track focused version of the base 458. The Speciale, like its predecessors features the same engine but with multiple changes to increase power - now standing in at 597 horsepower, almost 40 more than that of the Italia. The Speciale can achieve 62 mph in just 3.0 seconds! Coupled with increased power was overall staggering weight saving of 90kg, achieved by a stripped out interior, carbon underbody, thinner windscreen and side window glass, a Lexan engine cover, new and lighter ceramic brakes and distinctive forged wheels.

The cars more obvious features lie within its bodywork, which now features a vented bonnet, finned side sills, a taller almost 'duck tail' style rear spoiler and newly designed front and rear bumpers with integrated active aerodynamics. Various electronic updates were also added to the Speciale such as SSC (Side Slip Control) to improve the cars handling when on the limit. Via communication with the Speciales highly advanced F1 traction control system and Electronic Differential Control, all systems can communicate and operate simultaneously via instant analysis. In short, the cars onboard management systems allow the driver to push the car to its limits safely and with total comfort and control.

With its incredible capabilities both on the road and track, the Speciale is summarised today as a race car for the road, and arguably the best lightweight supercar ever made. Whether its part of any collection or just a standalone supercar, the Speciale is a 'must -have' from the V8 lightweight line up. Being the last of the naturally aspirated V8's, offering a uniquely unforgettable driving thrill and the most astonishing aesthetic, the Speciale really is a car not to be missed out on.
