Beschreibung

A great 365 GTC and one of only twenty two examples supplied when new to the UK market. Finished in its original colours of Blue Tourbillon with beige leather interior the car is matching numbers and has Ferrari Classiche certification, issued in November 2013. It is in exceptional order throughout following a full restoration on behalf of the last owner by Ferrari supremo Bob Houghton Ltd during 2009 to 2011. The car has been used minimally since on dry summer roads only and has continued to be regularly maintained by Bob Houghton.

The Ferrari was ordered when new from Ferrari by the UK importer Maranello Concessionaires on the 28th April 1969 on behalf of Ferrari main dealer Rob Walker Cars of Warminster, Wiltshire. This is confirmed in Ferrari documentation on file as is the order confirmation by the factory on the 7th May 1969. Chassis 12557 was not finished until the following year, the car being invoiced to Rob Walker Cars on the 20th May 1970. It was registered with the number RWV 66H which it has retained to date.

The second owner, a Mr Khoury of London bought the car on the 26th July 1971 from Maranello Concessionaires as shown in an invoice on file for the princely sum of £5,000.
He used Maranello Concessionaires for maintenance work with invoices and some interesting correspondence between him and Marranello’s Mike Salmon on file.

On the 25th April 1977 Brian Classic, the well-known dealer bought the car at auction selling the car a few days later to a Dr Bryn Williams who painted the car red. In 1979 he exchanged the car for a Ferrari Daytona at Ferrari specialist Modena Engineering. Modena went on to sell the car to a local enthusiast and collector of some repute, John Baynes, based in West Byfleet, Surrey.

On the 10th March 1984 John Dooley bought the GTC directly from the previous owner and he retained it until 2006 when he sold it to Bob Houghton Ltd. On the 27th April 2006 they sold it to regular customer Mr John Manfredi, buying it back from him on the 5th April 2009.

The last owner, a fastidious and knowledgeable collector who has owned many great cars over the years bought the car from Bob Houghton in November 2009 and commissioned them to complete a full restoration. This restoration completed in 2011 is fully documented and detailed in invoicing on file and illustrated by photographs taken throughout the process.

Since completion the car has been used very sparingly and only ever in suitable conditions, the mileage rising from 40,602 in 2011 to 41,256 to date. However, lack of use has not meant lack of maintenance, the car has been returned to Bob Houghton Ltd for regular maintenance as detailed in invoicing on file.

This super GTC comes with the abovementioned history file, the red Classiche book, toolkit, original manual, original working radio and all keys.
