At the end of the 1990s, Ferrari wanted to present on the market a car that could best represent the beginning of the new millennium. So, in 1999, the 360 Modena was presented. The car was immediately impressed by its new line, which was clearly distant from the F355. It was longer and taller but the monocoque chassis entirely in aluminium, "space frame", (thanks to the collaboration with the American ALCOA) made it more rigid and lighter than the F355.
The biggest differences with its older sister are in Pininfarina's design, which sets aside square lines in favour of softer, more harmonious lines. The front was completely changed, the recognisable central grille was replaced by two side openings, the famous retractable headlamps were replaced by two fully visible light clusters with a new Xenon lighting system. The doors were sleek and very elegant. The rear was wonderful with the two red round headlights, the big, chromed Prancing Horse positioned in the middle of the rear mask and four chromed exhaust pipes, two on each side. Looking up, the rear window with the Ferrari V8 with 5 valves per cylinder with the design code F131 (last evolution of the engine called DINO and then replaced by the propulsion unit F136). In this version, it delivered 400 hp at 8,500 rpm of pure power. For Ferrari, this small sports car represented the evolution of tradition and marked the beginning of a new era for the Maranello berlinettas.
This magnificent Ferrari 360 Modena F1 in its particular original Bianco Avus colour with its precious Rosso Ferrari leather interior is a real rarity in this elegant colour combination. In fact, it can be relatively easy to find a fair number of examples in colours such as red, grey, black, yellow. Very few have come out of Maranello with Bianco Avus and Ferrari red interior, and the few that remain are jealously guarded in collectors' garages. In most cases, they do not intend to deprive themselves of them. In 18 years, the car has covered only 59,000 km and was sold for the first time in Italy by the Ferrari Forza Spa Dealer in Turin in 2002. It has always underwent all service interventions at the official Ferrari network in Italy. The bodywork is in excellent conditions. The paint is original in almost all its parts except in the front part of the nose, which has been painted with a thin coating to fix the hateful little marks caused by pebbles. The engine is in perfect condition. The timing belt has been replaced in 2017 and a general overhaul has been done. Since that day, the car has only covered about another 200 km. A car destined, eventually, to enter the Olympus of the Ferrari "Icons" made even more rare and exclusive by its irresistible colour.
