Beschreibung

"The Ferrari 348 is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive, V8 powered, two-seat sports car replacing the 328 in 1989 and continuing until 1995. Journalists described the 348 as something quite special and the engine being the formative element in defining the car's character, rising in an operatic crescendo having the power to raise goose bumps as Pavarotti climbing to that note in Nessun Dorma. Badged 348 TB for the coupé (Berlinetta) and 348 TS (Spider) for the targa versions, it features a naturally aspirated 3.4 litre version of the quad-cam, four valve per cylinder engine which was originally found in the 288GTO. The 'T' in the model name TB and TS refers to the transverse position of the gearbox and the 348 was equipped with a dry-sump oil system to prevent oil starvation at high speeds and during hard cornering. It was also fitted with innovative adjustable ride height suspension and a removable rear subframe to speed up the removal of the engine for maintenance. Interestingly, two Ferrari 348s were used as two of the three test mules for the Ferrari Enzo, namely M1 and M3 respectively and when it made its debut in September 1989 at the Frankfurt Auto Show it was cited as 'Best in Show' by Road & Track and AutoWeek who later names the 348 as “one of the ten best cars in the world.”
This stunning 348 TB, presented in Rosso Corsa with tan leather trim, is one of 130 UK cars. In the perfect combination of righthand drive, manual, rear wheel drive with a glorious V8 sound track, this example has had just three previous owners and they were all Ferrari enthusiasts. This car has had an impeccable history from day one and the history file accompanying it is fabulous, it includes the original Maranello service invoices, an original sales brochure, an up-to-date stamped service booklet within the full book pack and every MoT test certificate since 1998 coupled to the original tool kit. Recent and important works include belts, tensioners and a new clutch in 2018, with less than 2,500 miles covered since. Our vendor has recently taken the 348 TB to SPA Classic and informs us that the car did not miss a beat for the whole journey and more recently he has, importantly, not re-connalised but reupholstered the seat bolster. This motor car is fabulous and we feel perhaps the best useable example currently available on the market, therefore viewing is highly recommended."
