In 1964, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 first broke cover at the Brussels Motor Show. Clothing a newly developed chassis, the 330 GT’s Pininfarina-styled body featured a distinctive four-headlamp configuration, while beneath the bonnet lay a 4.0-litre “Colombo” V-12 producing 300 PS. Marque expert Marcel Massini states that 503 examples of the Series I were constructed between 1963 and 1965.

This example, chassis 5539, was built in 1964, and leaving the factory on 27 February finished in Amaranto over a Nero leather interior. It was purchased new from the Italian dealer Vari, of Rome, and thereafter exported to the United States. The car remained there until 2014, when it was bought by the current owner and exported to Kuwait.

Chassis 5539 was refinished in red over a black leather interior by the second owner, and remains in this colour combination today. The odometer reads 58,218 miles at the time of cataloguing. It is accompanied by factory data from marque expert Marcel Massini, which indicates that the car retains its matching-numbers chassis, engine, and rear axle. Buyers should note that—having remained in storage for eight years—this car will require recommissioning prior to road use.
