The 1985 Ferrari 328 was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and despite the passage of almost four decades its performance credentials are capable of keeping much more modern machinery honest. Its 3.2-litre V-8 engine produced 270 brake-horsepower, and propelled the car to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. Eye-opening in period, Ferrari sold some 1,344 units of the 328 GTB from 1985 to 1989.
Supplied new by Garage Foitek of Urdorf, Switzerland, this Ferrari 328 GTB had its factory warranty issued on 26 January 1989, to Georg Fausch. Mr. Fausch drove his car sparingly over a 25-year period, with service records showing that he had covered 11,645 kilometres by July 2002. He decided to sell the car in 2004 to a Swiss enthusiast in Zürich, who then exported it. The 328 GTB was later acquired by the consigning owner.
This fabulous Ferrari had covered just 13,335 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, and is accompanied by its Ferrari folio, manuals, service book and warranty card, as well as its spare wheel. The car is finished in the classic colour of Rosso Corsa, over a Cream leather interior.
Forza Service of the Netherlands recently returned this Ferrari to running condition, but please note that the car will require recommissioning prior to road use. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/pa24/.
