Following the success of the 308 GTS thanks to its rather reasonable price when new, Maranello decided to develop its V8 Berlinetta. Its 328 attribute, a classic name for the brand, is derived from the engine's increased displacement compared to the 308 to reach 3.2 liters and its V8 architecture. The 328 was embellished with more comfort and safety equipment.

Put into circulation on June 23, 1988 by the Belgian Ferrari importer Francorchamps with a total mileage of 89,045 kilometers, our example is in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. With a clear history, showing the important maintenance to be done by a specialist of the brand, more information on request. The car is registered as a collector's item in France and is on our premises in Valence. Technical control, Carvertical reports, double keys present.

The 32-valve, 3.2-litre V8 develops 270 horsepower, 30 more than its predecessor, and comes to life without a hitch, emits no suspicious smoke, stabilizes quickly and simply requires gentle use in the first 15 minutes of driving to allow it to exploit its full range of use. Once started, the thrust is straightforward, linear and without any dips in power. The fantastic soundtrack contributes to the driving experience, without being too intrusive.
The gearbox is lighter and easier to use than many other Ferraris with this type of transmission and is easy to handle with a firm, very metallic feel. In terms of maintenance, the car has always been serviced at the Ferrari specialist garage, Caldéroni in Lyon since 2005. A service was carried out in November 2022 at 88,639 kilometers, including a service, belt change and more on request.

Although the overall design is very similar to that of the 308, many elements have been modified, such as the body-coloured bumpers and the headlights. But apart from that, the evolution remains very subtle aesthetically. The elegant Nero Metallizzato covers the exterior and offers a good shine and is in a very good state of preservation. The front (retractable) and rear lights are in working order and show no defects. In terms of corrosion, there are no traces of rust on the undercarriages, wheel arches or the bodywork thanks to the original galvanised bodywork.

The interior, with its much-improved Nero Daytona finish, contributes to the sobriety of the configuration and is in excellent overall condition. The leather of the seats and their seating is very good and shows no pronounced signs of wear. The dashboard is also in very good condition, with no cracks or tears, as are the carpets. The instrumentation on a black background in working order is very readable. But the most important control is located at the level of the dashboard tunnel, the inverted H-shaped grid, quite easy to use once brought to temperature and above all ideally placed in height, near the steering wheel. Numerous comfort and safety features have been added compared to the 308, such as air conditioning. We should also note the arrival of ABS from 1988, which our model benefits from.

In terms of tyres, the Bridgestone 205/55 ZR16 at the front and 225/50 ZR16 at the rear are in good condition and show little wear. The brakes have plenty of bite and the discs are in good condition and have been checked.
