° Rare color verde medio metallizzo! Just 11 308 GTB build in this color
° Preowned by speed record legend Don Vesco
° Comes with new service

This example of Ferrari's first Pininfarina-styled V8 road car was supplied new on 31st October 1977 in Fairbanks, Alaska finished in the rare Medio Verde Metallica livery. Just 11 308 GTB were delivered in this rare color.
The Ferrari was owned for many years until his death by Don Vesco, the land speed record holder for wheel-driven vehicles of both two and four wheels. Don's career culminated in 2001 with him gaining the FIA land speed record for wheel-driven cars at 458.4mph (737.7km/h) in 'Turbinator'. The 308 was used to commute to the Bonneville Salt Flats and Don painted it white like all his cars, better to reflect the scorching heat of the Flats.

After Don's death the Ferrari was purchased by a Californian collector who completely restored the car and returned it to its original green livery. The last owner purchased the car in 2015 from European Collectibles in Costa Mesa / California and imported it into the UK, since when it has been continuously improved. The Ferrari benefits from a recent service; a new clutch, timing belt and guides; and a rebuilt ignition system; while the electrics have been thoroughly gone through. In addition, the bumpers have been converted to European specification and the magnesium wheels expertly restored. Neither the Californian collector nor the last owner has restored the steering wheel, preferring to leave it as it was when the car belonged to Don Vesco.

In 2015, the 308 competed in the Ferrari Owners Club Concours, and in October 2016 it was featured on the cover of Classic Car magazine as part of the 'HOT 30' series. It has also formed part of the Salon Privé '70 years of Ferrari' celebration, and been featured on Drew Pritchard's 'Salvage Hunters: The Restorers' television series. This beautifully presented Ferrari 308 GTB comes complete with all manuals/books; a UK V5C Registration Certificate; fresh MoT or German TÜV; and numerous invoices dating back many years.
