A few months before the end of 246 production, the Dino brand launched a completely new model. It seems that the decision was taken in Turin, at FIAT headquarters, rather than in Maranello. The design was entrusted to Bertone, in gratitude for his many services. Body assembly, on the other hand, was carried out in Modena by Scaglietti.

While the 308 GT4 was launched in 1974, the 208 completed the range from August 1975 to May 1980. It features similar equipment and differs little in appearance, since only the front fog lamps are no longer present. What did change, however, was the engine, which was upgraded to 2.0 liters and marketed exclusively in Italy.

The one we're bidding on has had three owners since its delivery to Rome in March 1977. Fully matched, with spare wheel, service book and tool kit, it also benefits from a complete overhaul by Formula GT, the Münich-based Ferrari specialist, for over 7,000 euros in October 2023.

Last but not least, it is one of the 84 units listed for 1977.
