In 2008, Dodge began production of the third-generation Challenger R/T, paying homage to the company’s much-loved muscle cars of the 1970s. Sales were brisk, and throughout the production run, many upgrades and sub models were added to meet the demand for this popular product line.

With a published time of 0–60 mph in 2.3 seconds and capability of a sub-10-second 1/4 mile in stock form, the Demon is a road car with race car performance, one that is equally at home in daily traffic or on the drag strip. Standard equipment on the 3,300 examples built included a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8, drag-mode suspension, launch assist, power chiller, transbrake, torque reserve, air-grabber hood, and Demonbranded Nitto drag radial tires.
