According to information from the Chapron archives, Chassis 801432 was completed by Delahaye in October of 1949 and proceeded immediately to Chapron to be bodied as a coach ‘Coach’, with two doors and four seats. Painted in red with an ivory trim line, the wheels were painted to match as well. Inside, the seats were trimmed in beige leather while the steering wheel and dashboard were also finished in beige.

Sold by Delahaye in February of 1950, it is believed that the car has remained in France from new, yet much of its history remains unknown. Accompanied by copies of Chapron’s records, a previous French registration from 1965 states it was registered number 597 AD 32 as early as July 1954, and this number plate physically remains in the car today. Documentation on file for a registration transfer in 2011 shows that the car was purchased by Mr Dayez at that time.

Presented today in highly original condition, it still retains its original engine, seats, and likely most of its original paintwork. This is a thrilling opportunity for any enthusiast of French automobiles.

Selon les informations issues des archives Chapron, le châssis 801432 fut achevé chez Delahaye en octobre 1949 et partit immédiatement chez Chapron pour s'y faire carrosser en coach à deux portes et quatre places. La voiture était rouge avec une harmonie intérieure ivoire et des roues assorties. Ses sièges étaient garnis de cuir beige, et son volant ainsi que son tableau de bord arboraient la même couleur.

Elle fut vendue par Delahaye en février 1950, et l'on pense qu'elle est restée en France depuis lors, bien qu'une grande part de son histoire demeure inconnue. En complément aux archives Chapron, une précédente immatriculation française de 1965 fait état d'une immatriculation remontant à juillet 1954 sous le numéro 597 AD 32, toujours présent sur les plaques de la voiture. Des documents du dossier relatifs à une réimmatriculation en 2011 montrent que c'est à cette époque que M. Dayez l'avait achetée.

La voiture, proposée dans un état très proche de l'origine, dispose toujours de son moteur, de ses sièges et, pour une bonne part, de sa peinture d'origine.
