Beschreibung

Louis Delage was a very ambitious man with a passion for racing and a competitive edge, that led him to produce some of the greatest sports cars of the time. Only Delage and Mercedes-Benz produced cars that dominated in all: Grand Prix racing, Indianapolis 500 and held the World Land Speed Record.
The new Delage “SIX” known as type DM was introduced in 1926 and powered by a 3.180 cc overhead-valve six cylinder. Car was designed for speedy and economical long-distance touring.

Our car
Is the roadster made by James Young and it is a rare surviving example of more powerful (75 as opposed to 62 HP) short-wheelbase DMS. Our car was delivered to the UK in 1928. It has been rescued in about 1961 by Stan Harding form a scrapyard in the Midlands. Later on this sporty DMS were sold to Tom Bowhill of Cheltenham, well-known Delage restorer. Tom had restored the car for Patrick Delage himself regardless the costs. Today the car is to be found as an older restoration in great running condition with nice patina. The DMS model is very rare, with just not more than ten examples surviving to these days.
