This De Tomaso Pantera GTS was first registered in France on the 24th of April 1973 and has always been in French ownership. Most GTS Panteras were sold new in the United States and very few were sold in Europe. This one still retains the instrumentation in kilometers per hour. Many Panteras were also converted from the less powerful GTL version in the quicker and spectacularly colored GTS. They always came with the matte black colored bonnet and boot as well as the wider wheelarches and the characteristic Campagnolo alloy wheels.
It is equipped with an ANSA exhaust system, fitted with alloy headers, and, a fire extinguishing system. It went through a conservative restoration during the 2000s, retaining as much originality as possible and making it a very usable car. The front brakes fitted are Wilwood Group 5 brakes but the original ones do come with the car. The engine and gearbox have recently been overhauled by a specialist in Toulouse who can verify the work performed on the car.
Mileage from new is 57,500 kms. The car actually has its maintenance books as well as its original Campagnolo wheels and Avon tires which have 80% of their tread remaining.
With only two French owners from new and, all its life spent in France this must surely be one of the most unmolested and beautiful Pantera GTS. Considering the skyrocketing values of its contemporary competitors and how very few original examples remains, this is truly an opportunity not to be missed by the shrewd collectors...
