The De Tomaso Deauville is a rare luxury sedan penned by esteemed Ghia designer Tom Tjaarda and conceived to challenge the Jaguar XJ. It was powered by a 5.7-liter Ford V8 producing 290 PS and was notably the first De Tomaso model to feature an automatic transmission.

This 1980 De Tomaso Deauville Series 2 is one of only 244 total Deuville sedans produced. Its accompanying Car Order sheet from De Tomaso, dated 27 February 1979, reveals that this example was finished new in Bleu Ischia, complemented by a Pelle Nero and Velluto Argento leather and vinyl interior. The car was delivered new to noted dealership Hessing's Autobedrijven in the Netherlands. It is believed to have remained in the country through just two subsequent owners; at one point receiving a bare-metal respray in its correct Bleu Ischia according to a prior sales listing. The rare sedan was acquired by the consignor in January 2014 and was subsequently exported to Munich, Germany, where it has remained for the past 12 years. This example has also benefitted from a series of restoration work performed under current ownership; its last major service was performed in 2024 and included a suspension rebuild, oil change, master brake cylinder replacement, and emissions test.

This example offered today with an extraordinary history file that includes its original De Tomaso order form, FIVA Identity Card, several TÜV inspections, and invoices on file exceeding €23.000. Already rare as one of fewer than 250 examples produced of De Tomaso's only luxury sedan, this 1980 De Tomaso Deauville is distinguished further by its extensive provenance, factory documentation, and long-term careful ownership-which it invites its next custodian to carry on, or simply enjoy as a unicorn among luxury sedans.
