Chassis F2/28/58 rolled out of the Cooper Car Company Ltd, Surbiton in late 1958.
Italian Privateer Menato Boffa dovetailed hill-climbing a Maserati in local events with racing his Cooper T45 in several European non-championship Grand Prix’s including; Vienna, Syracuse, Naples and Modena.

The Cooper remained in Italy for the next forty years and was discovered resting in a small collection in time capsule original condition, numerous photographs were taken to show just how well preserved the Cooper had been kept.

‘F2/28/58’ required a complete restoration in order to see active competition again and so the new owner entrusted Belgian équipe mecauto to completely restore the T45 from the frame up with Competition Engine Services (CES) rebuilding the 1.5L Coventry Climax engine. The whole restoration process was photographically documented with stunning results.

Following it’s ‘shake-down’, ‘F2/28/58’ was subsequently raced in all the major events for which it would prove eligible; Monaco Historique, Goodwood Members Meeting and various races organised by the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA). The last race ‘F2/28/58’ competed in was with the HGPCA at the 2019 Spa Six Hour meeting where the Cooper proved to be competitive resulting in a class win.

Currently fitted with in date belts, fire extinguisher and valid HTP, the Cooper has been prepared by Belgian historic race team, Gipimotor, and is offered today fully race ready.
