This is a wonderful 1964 Citroën ID19. A few years ago this car underwent a very professional and sympathetic restoration. It was a thorough nut & bolt job. The Citroën ID19 was the more attractively priced sibling of the luxurious DS. The previous owner was well into his eighties when he bought the car. He fulfilled his lifelong wish to own an ID or DS. Once having made the decision and not being in the first flush of youth, he went looking for a fully restored prime example, one he would not have to tinker with himself.

This example’s bodywork looks fantastic. The panel gaps are great and the panelwork is nice and thin. The car has a fetching finish of yellow bodywork with a white roof. The quality of the paintwork is very good and has kept its looks. The car has its original steel rim with chrome hubcaps. The brightwork and lights are similarly in very good shape and all original.

The fine-looking interior trim has also been reupholstered. They used great authentic looking grey carpeting and red seat trim. The overall combination of in and outside finish is a perfect match. The inside of the Citroën ID19 is functional but still has that typical French flair absent from standard edition German cars of that era. The ID19 is typically a car that makes you happy to be behind the wheel.

Mechanically there is the robust 1.9 litre 4-cylinder engine attached to a manual 4-speed transmission.

The engine runs perfectly and is always able to deliver its power when called upon. Then there is the smooth and precise manual transmission. The amount of driving comfort this ID19 still has is unequalled to this very day. It is simply amazing in the way it filters out bumps in the road. It is blessed with incredible suppleness the envy of many a modern car. The fully restored hydraulic system is responsible for both braking and suspension. This Citroën ID19 is fully fit and ready for service in the coming years and will bound to be a delightful companion under all circumstances.

This is a great looking, mechanical perfect Citroën ID19 with a fetching colour combination, totally befitting the period when you could buy these cars new.
