Beschreibung

During a trip in France, we came across a beautiful unmolested and completely original Citroën DS21 from 1965, which was the perfect base for a challenging project : restoring a DS from the first series to the ultimate specification and to brand new condition. The project started early 2018, was finished almost one year later and the result is absolutely stunning. Our car is finished in Gris Palladium (AC108a - the darker version as this is the only correct colour for this modelyear) in combination with "Cuir Naturel", a Pallas only colour combination and probably the most glamourous choice for a DS. The icing on the cake was the purchase of a proper Jaeger dashboard to complement the gorgeous interior.

This Citroën has been stripped to the last bolt, and completely rebuilt as a brand new car. It's like it just left the factory, and it drives exactly as one may expect. The matching nrs engine and gearbox are completely overhauled, and the suspension is converted from red LHS hydraulics to the more userfriendly green LHM system. This makes it much easier to live with, and doesn't cause troubles if the car is barely used. Driving this DS is a revelation : it floats over good and bad roads without any drama, and the seats are as comfortable as an Eames lounge chair. As the DS is a real design icon, it looks even more fantastic in todays traffic then it did in the sixties. Inside, every single button feels like it is just manufactured, and even the period radio is completely overhauled and equipped with a hidden iPhone connection to enjoy some French chansons while wafting along. We sold the car within a couple of days to a gentleman, who has the car now properly ran in. Due to the purchase of an equally nice DS21 Cabriolet Chapron, he requested us to put the Berline back on the market. The car is in the same brand new condition as delivered in 2019, and a unique opportunity to get your hands on one of the finest Citroën DS on the market.

If you want the ultimate DS in the best specification and from the most desireable modelyear, then this is the car you need. Not a cheap example, but restoring one to this condition will cost much more, and then you still need to find a decent donor car. It was a dreamcar in the sixties for many, and it still is one today. Follow your heart, and book your testdrive : it won't be a disappointment.
