Beschreibung

GENERAL

With its 602 cc engine capacity fractionally above the limit for 2 CV designation, the Citroën Ami quickly received the nickname “3CV”.
It was produced from 1961 until 1979 and responded to a market need for a vehicle slightly larger and less rustic than the 2CV.
A remarkable technical innovation were its rectangular or lozenge-shaped headlights.
At the time, it was an unquestioned article of faith that headlights were round, and in the United States, it was the law, so these new headlights were illegal there until 1975.
The previous owner was a real Ami-aficionado and serviced all mechanicals before giving this Ami 8 brand-new eggshell paint job.
This classic French family car can be bought either separately or together with a matching and period-correct trailer, handcrafted by Belgian caravan-builder Bourgeois.
This could be a dream combination for couples or families who wish to travel the continent on smaller, toll-free village roads just like old times.

EXTERIOR

The beautiful eggshell paintwork has been renewed and looks perfect. All chrome work and mounted parts look very clean.

INTERIOR

This Ami 8 has a beautiful interior, combining amber fabric seats with leather accents and beige door panels.
All trimmings look very clean, including the grey headlining.
All instruments are said to be in working condition and the sun roof folds back and forth very smoothly.

ENGINE

This Ami 8 is powered by an air-cooled 602 cc flat-two engine, with a fuel consumption of only 5.3 l/100 km.
The engine in this example starts on the first try and runs quietly. This car drives, shifts and brakes exactly as it should.

BODY

The underside of this Ami 8’s body is very clean and the chassis doesn’t require any attention.
