CHRYSLER WINDSORAIRSTREAM 4.0

Though never popular to the overall American buyers’ market, the Chrysler Airstream releases of 1935-36 changed the ideas of auto manufacturing forever. Streamlined by function, the public saw them more as a novelty, and this example is one of only few Airstreams Sedans produced in 1936. Like all Chryslers of the era, power came from inline engine designs, in this case the 241 CI L-Head straight 6-cylinder version, with a downdraft carburetor. It is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission and semi-floating-design rear axle. Beautifully appointed with its two-tone scheme of burgundy and accenting black fenders, the look is augmented with classic Chrysler logos, chrome bumpers, fender skirts and wide whitewall tires. Also on this car is the crank-out windshield and accessory spotlight. Inside is a Deco-design dash layout and Luxury interior pieces. With red-painted wheels and chrome hubcaps plus trim rings as a final accent, this is a very special opportunity to own an American classic.
The Airflow was produced for only 2 short years much to the dismay of Walter P. Chrysler. However, almost every feature of this futuristic car was adopted over the years by Ford, GM and competitors.
