During the lead up to the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, Bill Pasteiner of Advanced Automotive Technologies and Bill Miller of Magna Steyr joined forces to design a striking retro-styled Corvette based on a C5 chassis, which they hoped would be chosen by GM to mark the occasion. However, to the chagrin of legions of die-hard Corvette fans, Chevrolet instead chose to release a somewhat muted 50th Anniversary Edition Corvette. While the C5 Corvette did represent the height of Chevrolet’s engineering prowess, Corvette enthusiasts were left wanting more.
