The incredible 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LS5 Stingray Coupe featured here is finished in the factory correct color combination of War Bonnet Yellow over an unrestored black interior. This particular example was sold new in December 1970 through Bill Sight Chevrolet in Kansas City, Missouri and was meticulously maintained by its original owner for most of its life. The LS5 was recently uncovered by a Corvette specialist and former NCRS judge who procured the LS5 from the family of the original owner. A thorough inspection revealed that the with the exception of a single respray the Stingray is completely unrestored and original. The numbers matching 454ci 365hp V8 engine is still present and is even equipped with the original cooling fan and fan clutch. Original hose clamps can also be observed in the engine compartment and various components from the alternator, carburetor, expansion tank, distributor and all four 15” steel wheels are date code correct. All the while a mere 24,597 miles are present on the odometer. With such incredible unrestored condition, single ownership provenance and excellent documentation this LS5 Corvette Stingray is an ideal candidate for NCRS preservation class judging and is sure to bring many years of enjoyment to its future caretaker.
