Cette Corvette Sting Ray a été construite le 10 septembre 1965 et expédié chez Queen City Chevrolet à Cincinnati. Elle a couru dans les épreuves du SCCA du centre et de la côte est aux États-Unis à Lime Rock et Bridgehampton dans les années 1960, puis dans des épreuves historiques jusqu'en 1998. Les papiers FIA originaux (H1637/99) montrent que la voiture a été achetée le 6 mars 1998 par Ronny Bredhauer et exportée en Allemagne où elle a subi une restauration complète.

À l'époque, Ronny était directeur des épreuves GTC TC de la FIA en Allemagne et peu de temps après devint l'organisateur du Jim Clarke revival. Ronny a aussi aidé « Simbin », une société suédoise de jeu sur PC, à créer le jeu GT Legends, édité en 2006, dans lequel figure cette voiture (numéro 900, alors aux couleurs Coca-Cola).

La voiture a un historique complet de course en Europe, ayant couru en Allemagne avec le soutien de Coca-Cola GmbH en catégorie GTC-65 de la DMSB (Deutsche Motor Sport Bund) de la FIA et au Royaume-Uni à la fois en HSCC et dans les Masters series. Elle a aussi participé à la 59e Coppa Intereuropa Storica à Monza, aux 6 Heures de Spa, à Reims, à Pau, au circuit Bugatti, à Hockenheim, au Nürburgring, aux 3 Heures de Snetterton, au Super Prix de Brands Hatch, au Silverstone Classic (à cinq reprises), au Donington Historic et à la Oulton Park Gold Cup.

Son nouveau propriétaire a restauré la Corvette dans son état précédent en 2015. Depuis cette date, la voiture a couru dans des courses de club au RAC Britannia Trophy, terminant première de sa classe, au Silverstone Classic et au Mans Classic en 2016 et 2018, puis a été invitée à participer au Goodwood Revival en 2017. Ses pilotes les plus remarquables ont été Jacky Ickx, Colin Turkington, Jack Goff et Sam Thomas. Cette Corvette Sting Ray bien connue, utilisée de façon intensive en course, est vendue avec un important dossier historique.

This Corvette Sting Ray was built on 10th September 1965 and shipped to Queen City Chevrolet in Cincinnati. It competed in Central & East Coast SCCA events in the USA at venues including Lime Rock and Bridgehampton during the mid-1960s and then 'vintage' events up to 1998. The original FIA papers (H1637/99) show that the car was purchased on 6th March 1998 by Ronny Bredhauer and exported to Germany where it underwent a ground-upwards restoration.

At the time Ronny was Managing Director of the FIA GTC TC series in Germany, and shortly afterwards became the organiser of the Jim Clarke revival. Ronny is credited as helping 'Simbin', a Swedish PC gaming company, create the PC game GT Legends, which was released in 2006 and in which this car (number '900', then in its black Coca-Cola livery) features.

The car has extensive European race history, having competed in Germany with Coca-Cola GmbH sponsorship under the DMSB (Deutsche Motor Sport Bund) FIA GTC-65 Series and in the UK in both the HSCC and Masters series. It also competed in the 59th Coppa Intereuropa Storica at Monza; Spa 6-Hour; Reims; Pau; Bugatti Circuit; Hockenheim; Nürburgring; Snetterton 3-Hour; Brands Hatch Super Prix; Silverstone Classic (on five occasions); Donington Historic; and the Oulton Park Gold Cup.

Its new owner restored the Corvette to its former condition in 2015. Since then the car has competed in club racing in the RAC Britannia Trophy, finishing first in class; the Silverstone Classic; and the 2016 and 2018 Le Mans Classic, and was invited to race at the 2017 Goodwood Revival. Notable past drivers include Jacky Ickx, Colin Turkington, Jack Goff, and Sam Thomas. This very well known and extensively campaigned Corvette Sting Ray is offered with a substantial file of history.
