For most enthusiasts, seeing the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray coupe for the first time was a case of love at first sight. Road & Track opined, "As a purely sporting car, the new Corvette will know few peers on road or track," while the British publication Motor pronounced, "In most respects the Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray is the equal of any GT car to be found on either side of the Atlantic."

This "split-window" coupe is finished in Code 936 Ermine White paint with Red vinyl interior, an uncommon but breathtaking combination as ordered from the factory. Factory air conditioning is another rare option as only 278 Sting Rays were so equipped in 1963. Power comes from the optional 300 hp 327 cu-in V8, a 50 hp increase from standard, and the most powerful engine available with air conditioning. According to the official NCRS/GM shipping data the production date for this Sting Ray was 27 June 1963 with delivery to Don Allen Chevrolet of Miami, Florida. Fully restored in 2016 to exacting criteria, it has the proper components, finishes, and quality control paint markings as built on the St. Louis assembly line. "Only a man with a heart of stone could resist temptation like this," said a Corvette advertisement in '63. With its iconic appearance and stirring performance, this Corvette Sting Ray could be a second chance for love.
