Beschreibung

The car is sold.

Here we have a truly exceptional example of an early Chevrolet Corvette C1, that has been restored to a world class standard by a dedicated enthusiast who set out with the goal of retaining as much as possible of the car’s originality. To that end he has gone to extraordinary lengths to use the correct parts materials and processes to create a truly authentic example and has uncovered and retained many of the original production markings along the way.
Exterior:
The exterior of this 1962 Corvette is finished in a stunning Roman red, and it is as close to flawless condition as you can find on one of these cars. The automobile has been completely restored, and the restoration received not one, but two topflight honors in 2010 for its outstanding work by the The National Corvette Restorers Association, with a score of 99.6%
The former owner took great pride in ensuring that the restoration was utterly authentic, which is most likely why he worked on it for 22 years, documenting the process with photographs throughout. The frame is original and appears to have never been welded, as can be seen in the photos. The car includes many chrome details such as the front bumpers, rear bumpers, and grilles all of which are in exceptional condition even 12 years after the restoration was completed.

Interior:
The interior is correctly trimmed in the original factory option of black vinyl, and has factory correct carpets, with a white vinyl roof.
The condition of the interior is excellent.
The dashboard, as well as every electrical component within it, is fully functional and in excellent shape. and, like everything else about this car, it has been completely restored.

Technical:
This 1962 model was the first year that the Corvette was fitted with the larger and more powerful 327 cubic inch engine this example is also unusual in that it still has the factory correct Rochester fuel injection system, which allows the engine to produce 340 horsepower. The vehicle has the more desirable factory option of a four-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. In addition to the two awards for its remarkable restoration, the car also received a third award in 2009 for outstanding mechanical operation and performance.
The car is still to this day in truly outstanding condition and ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
