The Z28 was first introduced in 1967, designed to defeat the Mustang in SCCA racing – which it did, winning the Trans Am championship in both 1968 and 1969. Essentially an option package for the Camaro, it was the brainchild of Chevy marketing and competition whiz, Vince Piggins. At its heart, was a specially built 302-cid V-8 crafted from the 327-cid block and the short stroke 283 crank. Published horsepower was rated at 290-hp, though estimates of its real horsepower range from 350- to 400-hp. These racing successes helped the Z/28 Camaro evolve into a desirable option.
The stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Coupe feature here is finished in highly desirable Lemans Blue over black and is fitted with many desirable options including factory air conditioning. This original California car has been restored with no expense spared by Marquis specialist to Concourse level standards and is now ready to be shown at national meets. Still retaining its matching numbers original motor this investment grade Z/28 is accompanied by its build sheets, broadcast sheets, protective plate and NCRS certification. We are proud to offer what we believe to be one of the very best 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Coupe to be found anywhere in the country, for the most demanding collector investor or enthusiast who only wants the best.
