"The first Chevrolet pick-up truck appeared in 1924, though in-house designs did not appear until 1930; ‘C’ indicated two wheel drive. General Motors’ first major redesign post-WW2, the Advance-Design series was billed as a bigger, stronger and sleeker design in comparison to the earlier GM AK series. First available on Saturday 28th June 1947, these trucks were sold with various minor changes over the years until 25th March 1955, when the Task Force Series trucks replaced the aging Advance-Design model. Subtle changes throughout production years meant that 1953 was the last year for the 216 in inline six cylinder engine. Hood side emblems now only read 3100, 3600, 3800, 4400, or 6400 in large print; door post ID plate was now blue with silver letters (previous models used black with silver letters). 
The present owner imported this truck from America last year, where it had just undergone a full frame off nut and bolt restoration by one of America’s leading restorers, Kurt De Mauro four years ago. This is an all steel body truck with no fibreglass and the paint is outstanding, which cost $9000 and is a three stage colour called White Chocolate and has a stunning pearl metallic tint to it. All the chrome and trim are in fabulous condition and the oak wood bed has a wonderful clear finish to it. The inner walls of the bed were done in a colour matched textured finish, making them more durable if wanted to load up the bed for shows or just to go on holiday. The rear bumper was removed to improve the aesthetics and a master pin-stripe artist, called Conways Customs, was employed to work their magic with just some subtle changes. This surely must be one of the finest on the market today."
