This CG 1300 was registered on September 13, 1972, and was purchased in 1983 by its current owner, a big fan of the brand. An early production example, it uses a CG 1200S' identity. With the help of a racer friend, our collector decided, in 2016, to prepare the car for taking part in the highly contested Trophée Maxi 1300. The bodywork was fully restored, while retaining some original features (the doors have still the original painted markings) and it regained its original livery, of white and blue. The mechanicals were entrusted to the undisputed specialist in the field, Christian Brusseau, who managed to get 145bhp from the engine, whilst preserving reliability. The gearbox received, for its part, a specific pinion gear. The running gears were the subject of particular care, with triangulated front axle, adjustable shock absorbers, wheel shafts in aeronautical quality treated steel, self-locking differential, ATE brakes... Every detail has been taken care of to the extreme so as to reduce weight, and the discerning eye recognizes that this preparation could only have come from a true connoisseur of the model. The total work exceeded € 68,000, and from the first race, in May 2019, the years of effort was rewarded with a third place in Dijon, then a first place in Spa in August. In 7 races, the car managed 6 podiums, proof of the efficiency of the machine in the face of fierce competition for this trophy. Equipped with a technical passport and registered, this CG is quite simply exceptional, and one could imagine it, with a few modifications, at the Tour Auto, where it is eligible. It benefited from a complete engine overhaul in april 2020.
