Mitte der 1950er Jahre präsentierte Lincoln die neue Marke Continental und baute hierfür sogar ein eigenes Werk. Cadillac hielt dagegen und entwickelte den Eldorado Brougham.

Dieses Spitzenmodell vereinte sämtliche Superlative und war der Design- und Technologieträger des GM-Konzerns. Der Wagen wurde in Handarbeit gefertigt und nach individuellen Wünschen der Kunden umfangreich ausgestattet. Mit einem Preis von 13.074 US-Dollar lag der Preis 10.000 US-Dollar niedriger als die Herstellungskosten, um ihn für die Käufer überhaupt erschwinglich zu machen. Dennoch kostete er seinerzeit mehr als ein Rolls Royce Silver Cloud!

Von 1957 bis 1958 wurden lediglich 704 Exemplare gefertigt. In den Modelljahren 1959 bis 1960 entstanden weitere 200 Stück, die bei Pininfarina in Turin / Italien hergestellt wurden.

Dieser seltene Cadillac Eldorado Brougham wurde auf einer sehr guten, originalen Basis extrem aufwändig restauriert und gelangte im Jahr 2014 nach Deutschland. Das Fahrzeug hat kürzlich einen umfangreichen Service in einer Fachwerkstatt erhalten und ist sofort startbereit.
