Beschreibung

Cadillac’s top-of-the-line offering for 1955 was the Eldorado Convertible, an unmatched blend of luxury, performance, comfort, and quality. Those qualities are exemplified in the model presented here, one of just 3,950 built in 1955.

This example received a frame-off restoration in 2014 and was finished in its original color combination of Cape Ivory with a black cloth top, complemented by red leather upholstery for the interior. As when new, it is equipped with unique Eldorado features such as five sabre-spoke aluminum wheels and a fiberglass parade tonneau cover with storage bags. Optional extras on this model include EZ-Eye tinted glass, heater, vertical seat adjuster, and a signal-seeking radio, complete with foot control switch and vacuum antenna. The quality of the work and attention to detail lavished on this car were validated at the 2014 Cadillac & LaSalle Club Annual Grand National Meet in Lake George, New York, where it was recognized with a First Place Primary win and awarded Senior badge no. 852. It was then acquired by a noted West Coast collector in 2015 and has been shown and driven sparingly since. In 2019, it garnered a class award at the Niello Concours at Serrano and still presents well today.

A superb representation of 1950s automotive Americana, this magnificent Eldorado is one of just 43 examples known today to the Cadillac & LaSalle Club. That exclusivity ensures its next owner enviable exposure, top up or down, whether on the road or show field.
