Beschreibung
BMW’s impressive Z8 was a production version of the sensational Z07 concept car designed by Chris Bangle, Henrik Fisker, and Scott Lempert. Utilizing an all-aluminum space frame and coachwork, the compound curves of this lightweight roadster evoked the iconic BMW 507 of the late 1950s. Fitted with a 4.9-liter V-8 engine developed by the BMW Motorsport division, the Z8’s acceleration, handling, and braking outperformed the Ferrari 360 Modena in a period Car and Driver test.
According to its original window sticker, this remarkable example was sold new at United BMW of Duluth, Georgia, finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over a Black Nappa leather interior. In recent years, the Z8 received new tires, valve cover gaskets, a fluid flush, new spark plugs, and an upgraded BMW strut bar. Twenty-three pages of records document servicing performed over its life, and according to its CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the Z8 has remained in Georgia from new.
A testament to the careful stewardship it has enjoyed over the years, the BMW today appears complete, including its original hardtop, manuals, tool kit, original window sticker, and VIN-stamped Z8 book. For enthusiasts looking for a collector-grade example of BMW’s highly regarded Z8, this well-documented, low-mileage example represents a rare opportunity that should not be missed.
