Beschreibung

"The Z4 GT3 competed in Europe since 2011 and in the U.S. starting in 2014. While the production version of the BMW Z4 has a six-cylinder engine, the GT3 car was powered by a 4.4 litre, eight-cylinder engine derived from the BMW M3 GTS, which produced approximately 508bhp. In its first year of racing, the car proved competitive in the FIA GT3 European Championship as well as not only emerging victorious from the Dubai 24 Hour endurance event, but also heading to second place from a low 49th position at the 2011 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps event by the Need For Speed Team Schubert. With drivers such as Nelson Piquet Jr. competing in the GT3, BMW saw great success before, in 2016, the GT3 Z4 program was replaced by the M6. The race cars were built at the cost of some £135,000 and have since exchanged hands for circa £120,000 even after the M6 replacement have taken their place.
What a shame that BMW never saw fit to make a production version of the GT3, the Z4 GT3 looked incredible; perhaps not classically beautiful but fit to burst with attitude, aggression and intent. It was, and most probably remains, one of the meanest looking racing cars ever.
This stunning, road legal, recreation is based on a standard 3.0 litre, straight-six Z4 but that is perhaps where standard ends. Based on a 35i production model powered by the turbocharged straight-six with a six-speed manual, this car has had thousands spent on it, of which there can be no doubt. We are informed the bodykit is an 100% carbon GT3 CFK Kit from a company called Flossmann, this is accompanied by six-point club race rally shoulder 2” crutch harness, three spoke quick release steering wheel, GT3 front spoiler with splitter, radiator duct, front fender insets, custom built seat mounts with Sparco circuit racing seats, AIM dash logger and MOMO Boss kit. The engine has seen VRSF intakes, a cutback stainless steel exhaust, carbon dipped rocker cover, front air intake and a VRSF upgraded intercooler all sitting on Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with Spax coil over springs. The gigantic rear spoiler with a new diffuser arrangement and the kind of front splitter that PistonHeads described as looking ‘excessive on the North Loop, let alone the North Circular’, is a giveaway as to the cars potential which, we are informed, was rated at 500bhp. There won't be any other road legal Z4 GT3’s so this is a car unlike any other and the attention that it will bring is worth the price alone. A front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car with whopping bhp, what’s not to like?
