Offered directly from BMW M Motorsport, this M4 GT3 was campaigned by the factory in partnership with the successful Team WRT and was most notably raced by legendary nine-time motorcycle World Champion Valentino Rossi. Chassis number 22-046 was also piloted by fellow Works drivers Augusto Farfus, Maxime Martin, and Charles Weerts.

The M4 GT3 made its debut in the Monza round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in April 2023, before Rossi and Martin combined to finish 2nd overall in race two of the following month’s Sprint Cup contest at Brands Hatch. A class win then arrived in the Road To Le Mans support race and outright victory was secured in the GTWC Europe Sprint event at Misano.

For 2024, Rossi entered the M4 GT3 into the flagship FIA World Endurance Championship. After a class podium at Imola, the BMW took on the 24 Hours of Le Mans but failed to finish owing to a crash. However, the #46 crew bounced back later in the season by snaring 3rd in the LMGT3 category at Fuji. Across a 27-race career, chassis 22-046’s finest display arguably came in its last outing. At the start of 2025, Rossi and co-drivers Weerts and Raffaele Marciello fought back from 12th on the grid to finish a fine 2nd overall in the Bathurst 12 Hour to complete a Team WRT 1-2 result.

This M4 GT3 presents today in an ‘end-of-race’ condition, sporting the livery worn for its final bow in Australia. A special, clear, matte lacquer has been applied by Walter Maurer to preserve its authentic battle scars. Best known for his contributions to the celebrated BMW Art Cars, Maurer has also signed chassis 22-046.
