GENERAL

The BMW Isetta must be one of the quirkiest yet charming modes of transport ever produced.
It was originally developed by ISO, a refrigerator manufacturer that would soon shock the world with supercars like the ISO Grifo.
The example presented here is a 1960-model equipped with a 300 cc engine. The current private owner purchased this left-hand drive four-wheeler Isetta in 2018 and treated it to a complete body-off restoration.
This a wonderful opportunity to acquire what basically is a brand new example of maybe the most charismatic micro-car ever produced.

EXTERIOR

The two tone red/cream paintwork, trim and chrome fittings of this charming microcar have been restored to a very high standard and look absolutely stunning.

INTERIOR

The colour-matched interior suits the car’s two-tone paintwork wonderfully well.

This Isetta’s interior has been completely retrimmed in red and cream vinyl, with fabric accents in the seats.
The rear of the cabin has been finished to a very high standard as well.

The steering wheel, controls and interment binnacle are equally immaculate.

ENGINE

Although the maximum speed remained the same as the earlier 250cc engine at 85 km/h,
the 300cc engine introduced in 1956 meant a marked increase in flexibility, chiefly noticeable on up- and downhill roads.

During the restoration, both the engine and gearbox benefitted from a complete overhaul.

BODY

The underside just came out of a fresh restoration and is as clean as one would expect.

During the car’s restoration, the body and chassis have been taken down professionally up to bare metal.

PAPER TRAIL

The car comes with a current valid Dutch registration, the owner’s manual and a Technical Inspection Certificate dated 20/09/2019.
