  • Beautiful pre-war BMW convertible bodied by famous coachbuilder Drauz—renowned for its bespoke roadster designs
  • Believed to be one of only 11 examples of the 326 to feature Drauz coachwork
  • Retains its matching-numbers engine
  • Originally delivered to Berlin before spending seven decades with Norwegian owners
  • Presents in attractive dark blue with blue leather and light grey soft-top roof following a recent restoration

While the BMW plant in Eisenach produced nigh on 16,000 examples of the 326, just 11 cars are thought to have received special Roadster bodies crafted by renowned coachbuilder Drauz of Heilbronn, Germany. Of those, chassis 76650 was originally delivered as a rolling chassis on 4 May 1937 to BMW dealer Kurpfalz in Berlin. While its early history is not known, from 1940 to 1945 the car was under the ownership of the Wehrmacht and stationed in Tromsø, Norway. For the next two decades, the 326 Roadster was based in Storsteinnes.

From 1985 to 2018, the car found long-term ownership with Mr Jacob Venn. He purchased the 326 in a state of disassembly, so commissioned a two-year restoration of the body and 1,971-cc straight-six. Thereafter, chassis 76650 was stored in a barn and seldom driven. After a short stint in Seljord, the car joined The Munich Masterpieces Collection. Restored once more, this 326 Roadster presents beautifully in dark blue over blue upholstery and retains its matching-numbers engine. It is accompanied by a Birth Certificate by BMW Classic.
