Beschreibung

Transmission: 4 gears, Manual gearbox
Registration number: BM-63-23

The learned gents are not quite agreed but it is self evident this is one of the most gorgeous BMW’s ever. The Karmann built slim BMW E9 coupé is a feast for the eye. That is just the start. If you agree with us the BMW E9 CSI is in all manner a treat, you cannot miss this sportive top version 3 litre straight-six manual.
The BMS CS came with a choice of different engines. To create the top of the range model the 2800 CS’s 2.8 litre engine was taken and enlarged to 2,986 cc with Bosch D-jetronic fuel injection. It gave the car 200 hp which in 1973 was in the realms of sports cars. You could compare it with latter-day offerings from BMW’s M division. The icing on the cake must be the manual transmission. 'Freude am Fahren' is never more apt.

This 3.0 CSI has been restored and mechanically rebuilt form A to Z. Not a quick once over but done with care, attention and the right budget. The literally and figuratively brilliant Granatrot Metallic finish is truly 'fabelhaftig'. The meticulous restoration has meant the brightwork, plastic parts, wheels and windows are all in exceptionally wonderful condition.

Inside our praise just continues with lovely black leather upholstery, well tended woodwork with all switching gear and gauges in grand working order. Ignoring the splendid condition for a moment we must say how pleasant a place it is inside the E9 CSI. The large expanse of dashboard, the fine finishing touches, the four electric windows and of course the pure sense of luxury.
The aforementioned large, typically BMW, 3 litre straight-six was fully rebuilt. The easy tick-over of the engine with that characteristic BMS sound just begs you to take place behind the Petri steering wheel and drive off to far-flung places. During the drive the low pitched rumble changes into a turbine-like howl as the revs mount. This six-cylinder has been perfectly maintained and is ready for many more miles. Whilst underway you will no doubt appreciate just how good the brakes, steering and suspension are.

Underneath matches the rest of the car’s condition. In Germany they would say 'Eindwandfrei', best translated as: flawless.

You can certainly show up anywhere in this E9 3.0 CSI. The holiday journey cannot be far enough and it is perfectly suited to attend any chique event.
If you are in the market for one of the most important cars in BMW’s history, we cordially invite you to have a gander at this beauty.
