In 1968 BMW presents the successor to the 2000 C and 2000 CS. Mainly responsible for the design is Wilhelm Hofmeister, that of the kink at the rear side windows indeed. The 'E9' CS is very distinctive, with the now well-known shark nose that is so typical of BMWs from the 1970s and 1980s. Initially, the new coupé is available as 2800 CS. In 1971 the content is increased to 2,986 cc and the car goes through life as a 3.0 CS with 180 hp. In the autumn of 1971, the 3.0 CSi with injection was introduced as the new top model: it had an output of 200 hp and reached a top speed of 220 km/h.

This very neat silver-grey 3.0 CSi is one with the Bosch D-Jetronic injection system. The lively M30 six-cylinder is coupled to a manual transmission, allowing you to experience the full package of 'Freude am Fahren'. In fact, this is the most popular version of the BMW E9 3.0 CSi.

The body of the BMW is in Polaris Silver Metallic (code 060) and makes a very good impression. The E9 has already been given a new coat of paint and that was clearly done professionally. There are virtually no traces of use to be found when walking around the car. All chrome elements, lighting parts and wheels look excellent. The 14" BMW light-alloy wheels fit harmoniously into the overall appearance of the car. The tires are also in excellent condition and the brakes function properly so that the sporty-presenting BMW can also be brought to a stop in a matching manner.

That the car has always been handled with care is also apparent after a look in the interior. Sumptuous velor upholstery with chrome details and wood trims represent the luxury of the 1970s and the entire interior is still in good condition fifty years later. The seats sit as they should, with plenty of support and comfort at the same time. The Momo Alpina four-spoke wooden steering wheel matches the style of the interior beautifully. The four round instruments in the cockpit provide the driver with all relevant information. Of course all instruments work properly.

Technically the car is in a very healthy condition. The powerful six-cylinder likes to rev and treats the occupants to a firm push in the back. The BMW is also more than fine in other technical areas, such as the chassis and the aforementioned brakes. The underside of the E9 is in a neat 'carefree' condition that matches the exterior and high-quality condition of the car.

Are you looking for a very good driving E9 that you can enjoy to the full and carefree? One where you always look back to see the beauty of the car when walking away after parking, then this could be the right E9 for you!
